Advocacy Corner: Cocoa and Poverty
Small-scale farmers live in poverty as large multi-national chocolate companies profit. Cadbury, formerly the largest buyer of fair trade chocolate, just dropped its certification in favor of parent company Mondelez’s Cocoa for Life program. Let them know that improved production and efficiency is not enough for farmers who live in extreme poverty. cocoa bean pods
