Fair Trade News

Lawsuit: Your Candy Bar Was Made By Child SlavesA class action lawsuit, on behalf of California consumers, was filed in early October alleging that some of the world's largest chocolate makers (Hershey's, Mars, and Nestle) are knowingly using child labor in Africa. This article describes the lengthy process that has unfolded the past 15 years since child labor was first documented. You can purchase a copy of the "Dark Side of Chocolate" DVD and a screening guide on FTJ's website.
