Thank you to everyone who made year-end donations! Your generosity is helping Fair Trade Judaica build the Jewish Fair Trade movement, bringing dignity and self-sufficiency to artisans and farmers around the world. This year we are designing lots of new Judaica products and introducing them to more synagogues and Judaica stores around the country, launching a Fair Trade Shabbat program and much more. If you haven’t yet made a donation, we’d appreciate your support.

Fair Trade Fruits and Nuts

Fair Trade Fruit and NutsTu B'shvat begins next Wednesday evening, 1/15, as we celebrate all the gifts that trees bestow upon us. NEW Product: Tu B’shvat Plate

Tu B'shvat PlateTu B’shvat, celebrated this year on January 15-16, is the Jewish holiday most connected to environmental issues. Environmental sustainability is one of Fair Trade’s key principles - promoting healthy soil, re-use of materials, avoiding dangerous chemicals, etc. Fair Trade Judaica decided to create a new ritual product: a beautiful Tu B’shvat plate made from recycled glass and decorated with a Tree of Life, olives, grapes, pomegranates, almonds, and figs, using water based paint! So beautiful, this plate can be used year round. Order by Monday 1/13 for plate to arrive for Tu B’shvat.

Follow us on Facebook

Follow Us on FacebookWe’re so excited that we have more than enough people for our second annual Guatemala trip! We’ll be visiting 8 different artisan groups who make beautiful Judaica products, and visit major cultural and historical sites, and spend Shabbat with the Jewish community. We’ll be posting on Facebook daily, so you can keep up with our adventures and follow the trip vicariously.

New Products for 2014-15

What new Judaica products would you like to see made by fair trade artisans this year? We’re working on Shabbat wine goblet and candle sticks, small dreidels and groggers for next year. What other ideas do you have for products that you would purchase, as well as ideas material (e.g. textile, wood, ceramic, etc).

Click on this "Let us know" link if you’re interested in any of these, or if there is a Judaica item that you would like developed by a fair trade producer.
