Tallit Set
MayaWorks’ exclusive fair trade tallit and bag are handwoven byLili Carmen Osario from Tzanjuyu and other artisans in the village of Xetonox in Guatemala. The tallit is woven from ivory cotton fabric and embroidered with colorful stripes and Maya-inspired star shapes. These shapes have various meanings in the Maya world – often representing the four sacred directions or the many volcanoes found in the Guatemalan landscape.
The tallit has hand-tied fringes and does not include tzizit; these may be special ordered with an added cost and up to 2-4 weeks time for deliver.
The matching kippa is hand crocheted in San Marcos La Laguna.
The tallit set may be ordered online at the MayaWorks web site and at The Aesthetic Sense. Wholesale orders can be placed here. |
